Voting Question: nice camping sites in CA near Los Angeles?

my friends and i want to go on a camping tripp during spring break..maybe a night or two. ive gone camping before but the place is very far & we dont want to go to far. its near Modesto,ca i think this is just a group of seniors trying to make the best out of their last high school yr. something where we can get a shower,go swimming & a firepit would be amazing! idealy 2-3 hrs away farthest maybe 4 hrs.thankss for the helpp!:) *not perris lake(didnt like it because the area we got was very sandy. we want a woodsy type place with trees & all that jazz:)...
